IMST is one of the leading R&D European companies in mobile telecommunications. As the coordinator of the Median project IMST has successfully led a well recognised research project within the ACTS programme within the 4th framework of the EC. IMST will coordinate the whyless.com project and manage the consortium towards the successful achievement of the project goals and objectives. IMST will research system end-to-end architectures and analyse, simulate and model communication procedures, algorithms and protocols. Another research area is the modelling of the physical layer, particularly in the area of synchronisation and coding. Emphasis will be on the analysis of system capacity in interference limited environments. Based on the experiences in Median as well as other R&D projects IMST participates in the channel characterisation, too.
